Dream Master 03:39
Started as a dream Was heading down stream Then I wrote my first rhyme scheme Spit it on a mic and the rest is history Now I'm on the mic I can not believe it Turns out my favorite game is rap and I can't quit Old school casino I'm lit, the smoke in the air makes me wanna spit Got these save files and they all legit Not yet though, only got a couple flows to show But i know that I can change and grow In the record store, listening to my heroes But never thought that that was me, no Then I found my own voice and a tight rap flow Now I'm going everywhere I wanna go Had to let go, let out, all this doubt Rap about whatever I want to rap about Aliens, weed, whatever Xenoblade X was about My rhymes raging, and you're in a drought Boats getting capsized, finding no allies Realize, I brag a lot, but don't tell lies Started as a dream Was heading down stream Then I wrote my first rhyme scheme Spit it on a mic and the rest is history Just polishing my weapons, learning every lesson Gonna be well versed in my verses, I'm bettin On me, 21, checkmate, and monopoly High entity, high grade, and high quantity Hit the stizzy, get another verse from me The first draft is already fine quality Alright, let's start here, alright Why I had to scrape by, every day of my life Carry a knife, mom worried I ain't safe every night Couple a quick crimes seem easy, I just might Just cuz everybody trying to grab a few coins Everyone out for themselves like they playing metroid Got a few old friends that I'd best avoid Seen more than my share of lives destroyed They live in prosperity, we ignore the disparity Get that money, maybe you'll finally be proud of me Started as a dream Was heading down stream Then I wrote my first rhyme scheme Spit it on a mic and the rest is history

Like a Child 05:03
Eyes wide Heart about to burst out from inside I got a lot of pride In what I think, in what I write But on stage, in the limelight, every line, scrutinized and when I finally get it all tight Then they might maybe almost admit I'm alright That's how the rap game goes, just catching up and pretend like I know But I don't even know what I want Didn't even know I could write till I was grown up Spent some years trying to build some confidence Had to learn what hustle meant, get up off the fence Stack these bars so high they pay the rent Work so hard I never sleep again I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance For a long time I stressed, and I didn't do a thing Had myself vexed, like I couldn't change anything Bottles up, so high, hoping to get up out my mind Sobered up, but still high, trying to catch up from behind Tying my shoelace, now I'm first place, wasn't even invited to the race Showed up, caught up and already outpaced Crossing every border But I don't even travel Of course I'm out of order Go 'head and bang the gavel I'm a fire starter And you don't hold a candle Sheriff don't give no quarter And I'm up in the saddle You looking like a child Your whole world unraveled I got such a clean style And you've lost every battle Got to take the hustle to another level Never settle for the bottom of the middle Meddle with the rap game solve it like a riddle Blow the whistle, cuz once I drop the album I'm gonna make it all official I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance Anxiety gonna be the death of me Acting like my feelings might be deadly Thinking that my mind is mine only If I tell the truth how many people might disown me Just relax, these just some rhymes As long as it's real their gonna bump it every time And if I really write some dope lines Their feelings will be the same as mine so now I'm out here, making my words clear trying to hit the right vibe, to keep it in your ear get you hyped for when the album drop next year I have autism, allergies, and anxiety, but no fear Put all on record, then I can move past Put it on a beat, next level fast Rhymes I trashed, now every first draft my last My lines aren't just fly, they're first class I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance I'm standing out here, lost like a child But everything feels so new, so worthwhile I used to flow down the path of least resistance Without hesitance, I'm gonna have to go the distance

Submerged 04:00
You a roadblock well blocks I smash In fact get a power up, and continue on my path Move fast like sonic cuz I'm drowning in the past If my breath can last, then the future is vast Went through some trouble to be here Stand behind the mic with no fear Had to shake off a couple bad years But twenty-two is the year I'm gonna make it clear I've got a brand new career Get in your ear, a new frontier I inhere No more tilting at windmills, time to make it real Forge like steel, words are bond, so I gain that skill Trying to gain wealth, nah, I'm trying to pay bills Stack a couple mil and I might be in debt still Dig deep, dope beats I hunt across the hills And with these bars I'm going in for the kill Running over every obstacle in my way Grabbing those coins with no delay Got an extra life for another day Power ups I've got a wide array Running over every obstacle in my way Grabbing those coins with no delay Got an extra life for another day Power ups I've got a wide array Lost a lot but now I've got a lot to say Lost a bet, now I know where I got to lay In my bed, too sad for another day For a few years, didn't write a single thing I'd say Felt like a fraud every time I saw a blank page Lack of passion just cascades All those thoughts I locked in a cage, Now I get to say them on stage for all to engage, Too old to be coming of age, That's what they'll think been practicing for just a few weeks But I've been thinking on it all my life Used to write blogs now I get the crowd hype Not a lot of energy, but some maturity A lot of practice writing clearly Take a six month sabbatical yearly Ignore the autism, I mean it most sincerely Running over every obstacle in my way Grabbing those coins with no delay Got an extra life for another day Power ups I've got a wide array Running over every obstacle in my way Grabbing those coins with no delay Got an extra life for another day Power ups I've got a wide array Come off whatever, try to be clever But I swear this a serious endeavor Solid gold rhymes like I found buried treasure ROI when you hear me getting better Get high, get by, hope I don't die, Inside, this time, still got more lines But if I make a really dope track, It'll prolly be a crime I swear I made the hook, stop lying stop trying At least no one pay attention, until you start buying But once this mixtape drop, gonna have to form a line Listen to these rhymes, and I'm sure that you will find A couple dope bars, gonna have to hit rewind All work, no play, no sleep, low pay Rap game is tough, so is everything, every day Everything I crave is about a milli away And I don't want shit except a place to stay Think I'm lyin, about the bars I'm writin Drop lines like they expirin' I'm inspirin' Hit the doomsday siren, beats like bombs I'm ignitin' You standin in the shadow of a titan, And that sword ain't shinin Not enough stamina to stand in, afraid that I just might win Can't even begin, to know where I've been frustratin, been waitin' stuck hybernatin' No violin, just a Spotify subscription, shout outs to Twilight Division Dope ass beats from way back when, countdown, save state, suspend Cuz now we're at the end, And I was just about to begin About to get a few more bars in Guess we'll see when the next mixtape drop in Until then

The Climb 02:45
Got me a real assignment Take some coal, make some diamonds So much pressure, I'm always shining Rhymes glistenin', jewelery I'm designing Pull my weight, I'm mountain climbing Perspiring, you know I put the most time in You can slide in, the rearview mirror, i'm driving Too fast, no gas, barely survivin' Lines got curves like a silhouette Gonna keep rhyming til there's nothing left Guess who stepped into the rap game, me Now can you please tell me where the money be Ain't got no time for hide and seek Imagine what I could do if I wasn't so meek You know I'm on that climb Always on my grind Polish these lines Gonna make em shine You know I'm on that climb Always on my grind Polish these lines Gonna make em shine Gotta end the mixtape right, bring pride to the Twilight Despite, everything I don't know when I write These flows, I suppose, that's how it goes On to the next beat, move quick like the pros Don't stop, to dwell on what you could've done Step one, release another album I mean mixtape, all the best stuff can wait Sit on that until I can serve a full plate All sides, all fixings, best hooks, solid mixing No more convincing, so many rappers I'll be eclipsing Sacred armor I'm piercing The legend is existing Dodging every disaster, can never be captured I'm the dream master When I wake up nothing comes after

about

My tribute to chip hop and backpack rap. This EP is based on and inspired by the lost beats of Twilight Division. I always bumped these awesome chip hop beats over fifteen years ago, but Twilight Division and their music have disappeared and have been missing from the internet for almost two decades now.

About Mode 7:
Mode 7 is a rapper and writer from Los Angeles, California, taking hip hop to another level with his original style of clever but conscious game music inspired hip hop. Raised on a heavy diet of video games and west coast rap while growing up, Mode 7 now combines and reimagines his love of Super Metroid and Tupac into a unique sound all his own.

Mode 7's style covers a range of hip hop and subject matter. Emotion comes through strong in many ways on Mode 7's music, tackling subjects like love and heartbreak, mental health, inequality, and loss with his own irreverent, often comedic bars. Combined with Mode 7's extensive knowledge of video game history creates fun, fluid, and informative lyrics with a surprising amount of real world depth.

You can find Mode 7 rocking the stage at various conventions and events. Be sure to check out bio.site/mode7 for booking and event info, as well as the latest music!
